History and Architecture of Charlotte
Charlotte’s history is fascinating. Our early history is a Revolutionary war history. We were gold miners, cotton growers, plantation owners, freedman, slaves, textile magnates, and most recently bankers. Our early architecture is similar to that found in the northeastern states. We have historic districts with architecture ranging from Victorian era to Colonial Revival to anything they could afford to build! Our churches range in style of architecture from Victorian, to Gothic Revival Style to Byzantine. We have public art and some that you have to search for. We will share Charlotte’s history, architecture, and special places with our guests.

This tour is for those people with low cholesterol and for those with high cholesterol who subscribe to the “carpe diem” philosophy of life. This tour is not for the calorie counters. We are going to eat!!! Cornbread! Fried pickles! Fried chicken! Calamari with a southern flare…and much much more! Many of the locations that we will visit have been highlighted on the Food Network. Bring your appetite, Lipitor, and antacids.
